Wolverine PS5 Consoles and Controllers Launch September 15
Sony is releasing a limited edition PlayStation 5 bundle and accessories themed around the upcoming game Marvel's Wolverine, set to launch on September 15, 2026.

Sony Interactive Entertainment is rolling out a collection of limited-edition hardware inspired by the highly anticipated game, Marvel's Wolverine. A bundle featuring a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console, a DualSense wireless controller, and a digital code for the game will be available starting September 15, 2026, coinciding with the game's release date.
The new console and controller designs prominently feature artwork and motifs drawn from the iconic Marvel character. The console itself sports an image of Wolverine's face, while both the console and controller exhibit a slashing design reminiscent of his adamantium claws. For existing PS5 owners, Sony will also offer interchangeable console covers in a striking "Battle Yellow" color, inspired by Wolverine's classic costume. Additionally, a special "Adamantium" silver variant of the console covers will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 5 Pro model.
Hardware Pricing and Availability
The limited-edition accessories will see varied availability. The PS5 Digital Edition bundle and the "Battle Yellow" DualSense controller will be accessible through select retailers. However, the console covers, including both the "Battle Yellow" and the exclusive "Adamantium" silver for the PS5 Pro, along with the "Adamantium" silver DualSense controller, will be sold exclusively through PlayStation's official online store. Prices for the bundle start at $649.99 USD. The DualSense controllers are priced at $84.99 USD, and the console covers for both PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro models retail for $74.99 USD.
These new releases come in the wake of Sony's recent price adjustments for its hardware and accessories. The company implemented a price increase for its physical products in August 2025 and again in March 2026, a move that has drawn some criticism from consumers. The decision to phase out physical disc drives entirely from future console models, with a projected discontinuation of physical disc releases starting in 2028, has also fueled debate within the gaming community, particularly concerning the digital-only nature of this new bundle.
Despite the ongoing discussions about digital versus physical media and rising costs, the demand for PlayStation 5 consoles and high-profile game releases remains strong. The launch of Marvel's Wolverine is expected to be a major event for gamers in late 2026, and these themed accessories aim to capitalize on that excitement, offering fans a unique way to celebrate the character and the game.
