Flipper Zero Makers Launch Busy Bar for Enhanced Focus
The creators of the Flipper Zero have unveiled the Busy Bar, a new device designed to boost productivity. Launching July 14, it acts as a smart Pomodoro timer and integrates with smart home devices and apps to minimize distractions.

The Shenzhen-based company that brought the popular Flipper Zero hacking tool to the market is set to release a new gadget aimed at improving personal productivity. Dubbed the Busy Bar, this device, initially announced in April 2025, will officially go on sale on July 14, 2026. Early adopters who are among the first 3,000 customers will be able to purchase it at a discounted price of $199, while the standard retail price is set at $249.
The Busy Bar is engineered to enhance focus by borrowing principles from the Pomodoro Technique, a time management method that breaks work into intervals, typically 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. The device features an LED screen designed to display a clear "Busy" message to colleagues or family members, signaling that the user requires uninterrupted concentration. This visual cue is intended to deter casual interruptions during focused work sessions.
Smart Integration for Deeper Concentration
Beyond its straightforward visual indicator, the Busy Bar integrates with the Matter smart home standard. This compatibility allows users to connect and control a wide range of internet-enabled devices to support their focus periods. For instance, users can program the Busy Bar to automatically lock their doors, pause music playback, or adjust desk lighting when a focus session begins. This interconnected functionality aims to create an environment conducive to deep work, minimizing external stimuli that could break concentration.
Further supporting its productivity-focused mission, the Busy Bar syncs with a dedicated smartphone application. This app enables users to block access to specific applications or websites during designated focus times. When the user activates the Busy Bar by pressing its "Start/Pause" button, the integration extends to locking down their phone, preventing accidental engagement with distracting digital content. The company has also announced plans to release an open API for the Busy Bar, paving the way for future integration with a variety of third-party applications and services, further expanding its utility for productivity enthusiasts.
The Flipper Zero gained significant attention for its versatility in penetration testing and electronics tinkering, becoming a cult favorite among tech enthusiasts and ethical hackers. Its creators are leveraging this reputation for innovation by applying a similar problem-solving approach to personal productivity challenges with the Busy Bar. The device represents a novel attempt to "hack" distractions, much like its predecessor hacked digital systems, by creating an ecosystem of tools designed to safeguard focused work time.
