Smart ring maker Circular announced its new Ring 3 series on Thursday, introducing both a Pro model and a more streamlined Slim option. The latest smart rings are equipped with integrated NFC chips for contactless payments and provide on-finger vibration alerts for alarms, reminders, and other notifications. The Ring 3 Pro distinguishes itself with an FDA-cleared ECG for AFib detection, blood pressure trend tracking, and glucose monitoring, alongside advanced sleep analysis and comprehensive biometric data. This model enhances battery life to up to 12 days, a significant jump from the 7-day capacity of its predecessor.

The Ring 3 Slim, designed to be thinner and lighter than the Pro, focuses on essential health and wellness tracking in a compact form factor. It includes features such as sleep monitoring, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂), skin temperature, and daily activity tracking. The Slim option promises up to 10 days of battery life. This launch arrives amidst a competitive smart ring market, with recent introductions from rivals like Oura and RingConn.

Advanced Health Features and User-Centric Design

Circular CEO Amaury Kosman emphasized the company's strategy in a statement. "We understand that not everyone wants every health feature," Kosman said. "Many people simply want a beautifully designed, fashionable smart ring that delivers essential wellness insights and effortless contactless payments. That’s why we created Circular Ring 3 Slim—a lighter, more streamlined experience that retains the convenience of secure NFC payments while offering the core health tracking features many users want in an incredibly compact design."

The on-finger vibration functionality, available on both Ring 3 models, serves multiple purposes. Users can set silent wake-up alarms, receive medication reminders, get critical health alerts, or engage in guided breathing exercises. These subtle haptic feedback notifications offer a discreet way to stay informed without needing to constantly check a phone or the ring's display.

Both the Ring 3 Pro and Ring 3 Slim are constructed from durable titanium steel and feature 50-meter water resistance, making them suitable for daily wear in various conditions. They also support convenient wireless charging. The rings will be offered in sizes 6 through 14 and will be available in the same color options as the previous generation: gold, rose gold, silver, and black. While pricing and specific preorder details are forthcoming, Circular anticipates the new smart rings will be available for purchase in early 2027.
