Activision will remove Call of Duty: Warzone from the Microsoft Store for Xbox One on June 4, 2026. This date marks the official delisting of the popular battle royale title for the older console generation. Players who already own Warzone on Xbox One will be able to continue playing until the conclusion of Season 06 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The in-game store for Warzone on Xbox One will cease to function on June 25, 2026.

An official statement confirmed the change: "Call of Duty: Warzone on PlayStation 4 and XBOX One will be available to play through the end of Season 06 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. New downloads will no longer be available on these platforms starting June 4. However, the game can still be installed and played until the end of Season 06 if it is owned in your platform’s library." This move follows the recent announcement that the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will not be released on Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

Older Titles Face Digital Sunset

Warzone is not the only Xbox One game scheduled for removal from digital storefronts in early June 2026. Both Horizon Chase Turbo and Rec Room are also slated to be delisted on June 1, 2026. While these titles, like Warzone, will no longer be available for new purchases, existing owners will retain access. It is important to note that the delisting of these games does not affect their availability on newer consoles like the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, where they will continue to be supported.

The delisting of these games raises questions about the long-term support for older hardware. As developers increasingly focus on current-generation consoles and PC platforms, titles that were once staples for millions of players on platforms like the Xbox One are gradually being phased out. This trend reflects the natural lifecycle of gaming hardware and the industry's push towards more advanced gaming experiences. The decision to delist Warzone specifically, a free-to-play title that maintained a significant player base on Xbox One, highlights the ongoing shift in platform strategy for major game publishers.

For Horizon Chase Turbo, the developer had previously indicated that the "original version" would be removed. This statement, made around late April 2026, coincided with the addition of a new Ayrton Senna Edition to the Xbox Store. It remains unclear whether this new edition will replace the original on the store or if both will become unavailable. Further clarification from the developer is expected regarding the availability of the different versions of Horizon Chase Turbo.

As June 2026 progresses, players are advised to check their libraries and download any desired titles before the specified deadlines to ensure continued access. The delisting of these three prominent titles serves as a clear indicator of the evolving landscape of digital game distribution and platform support.
