The version 1.4.0 update will be available on August 4, followed by the "Anniversary Expansion Pack" DLC on August 5. This dual release promises to bring fresh challenges and new strategic options to players on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The free version 1.4.0 update introduces several commemorative missions, including a "20 Million Sales Commemoration Mission" and a "35th Anniversary Commemoration Mission," likely celebrating major milestones for the franchise. A new game mode called "BOOST" is also being added, alongside an unlock for the pilot level cap, allowing for greater character progression. The update also includes various other improvements aimed at enhancing game stability.
New Content for Players
The highlight for many fans will be the "Anniversary Expansion Pack" DLC. This paid content will add 33 new Area Missions, providing new narrative arcs and battle scenarios. Players can also look forward to acquiring 12 new weapons, five new playable units, and one new Assist Crew member to bolster their rosters. A special bonus mission, titled "Anniversary Expansion Pack Purchase Bonus," will also be available for those who acquire the DLC.
