Lenovo has introduced two new gaming monitors under its Legion brand in China, offering high refresh rates and IPS panel technology at competitive price points. The 23.8-inch Legion 24-1r is priced at 669 yuan, approximately $99 USD, while the larger 27-inch Legion 27-1r costs 789 yuan, or about $116 USD. Both models are designed for gamers seeking fluid visuals and rapid response times.

These new monitors boast flat IPS panels with a native resolution of 1920x1080 and can achieve a rapid refresh rate of up to 280Hz. Lenovo specifies a brightness of 400 nits, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and 99% coverage of the sRGB color space, making them suitable for vibrant and accurate color reproduction. The panels utilize 8-bit color depth through 6-bit plus FRC processing. For gamers demanding the highest frame rates, reaching the full 280Hz refresh rate requires a DisplayPort connection, as the HDMI 2.1 ports are limited to 240Hz at the same resolution.

Performance Features and Connectivity

The Lenovo Legion monitors are rated with a 0.5ms MPRT response time, supported by four overdrive settings that can reduce input lag to as low as 1ms. However, enabling the MPRT mode on the 24-1r model may disable AMD FreeSync Premium and could introduce minor flickering, according to the manufacturer's specifications. Connectivity options include one DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 input, two HDMI 2.1 TMDS inputs, and a 3.5mm audio output jack.

Both displays come equipped to support AMD FreeSync Premium, VESA Adaptive-Sync, and HDR10 signals. While Lenovo has not announced a VESA DisplayHDR certification for these models, the HDR10 support suggests a baseline for enhanced contrast and dynamic range. The 24-inch monitor offers a pixel density of 93 PPI, while the 27-inch version provides 82 PPI, with the larger screen delivering a more expansive, albeit less pixel-dense, viewing experience.

Ergonomics are also a consideration, with the included stands offering 135mm of height adjustment, along with pivot, swivel, and tilt capabilities. For users who prefer alternative mounting solutions, both monitors are compatible with standard 100x100mm VESA mounts. These new Legion monitors have appeared in Lenovo's global PSREF database, indicating a potential future release outside of China, though specific pricing and availability for the US and European markets have not yet been confirmed.
